HONOLULU'S LEI: THE SYMBOLOGY OF FRANGINIPANI, BETTER KNOWN AS PLUMERIA
I once read that Swahili poets used the Plumeria plant as a symbol of love. Etymological term / name for Plumeria or even known in Hawaii is Lei, is Frangipani. Buddhist and Hindu followers consider it a sign of immortality and the continuation of the soul after death. The best part about this plant is that it is the traditional flower in which Hawaiian Lei's are made - perfect for a tropical wedding celebration.
